All the most important cities in the world have their own Chinatown, so should Kirkenes!
In the past weeks, we have been asking local businesses to join us as we transform Kirkenes into the World’s Northernmost Chinatown for the Barents Spektakel 2019. With curiosity, business owners in Kirkenes’ pedestrian street have jumped on board and agreed to take part with signage and unique contributions to the look and feel of the festival.
Lightboxes, signs and some quickly learnt Chinese phrases will make up the new streetscape, giving Kirkenes a new face and welcoming the future as the most important city on the Polar Silk Road.
